Referring to your Despatch No. 309 of the 18th. November, I have the honour to report that the Hongkong and Shan- -ghal Banking Corporation is incorporated under a Special Ordi- -nance which does not require the filing of an annual list of shareholders with the Registrar of Companies in Hongkong.

The Corporation state that a return of German and Austro-Hungarian shareholders is in course of preparation, and

it will shortly be forwarded to the Board of Trade.
